My name is Andrew and this is my story... well some of it anyway.

I was born in Perth, WA but grew up in the small coastal town of Bunbury which has now officially become a ‘city’. It was a place of adventure and accessibility with the sand and waves on our doorstep, there was never a shortage of things to do. My Mum may beg to differ considering the repetitive statement I made every holiday break... “I’m bored!”

I have had the sweet pleasure of growing up with two amazing brothers (which has grown in time with now a beautiful sister in-law, and an amazing niece and nephew) and beautifully gracious parents whom I love deeply. It is family that has taught me the beauty that can be found in the simplicity of life and while there have been no shortage of hurdles to stumble through, there has also been an overwhelming and over-riding reality that love can conquer even the deepest valley.

Life stayed busy with bodyboarding, art, hockey, random adventures and ye old classic... school. I kept focused (for most of the time) during my early days, but it wasn’t until I travelled to South Africa in 2004 that my life was flipped upside down. My eyes were opened to a global village where by there was something new around every corner. It was awakening and revelation of every cultures beauty and most importantly the people who dwell in the land. This humbling movement has taken me around the world from Indonesia, Egypt, Thailand, Nepal, Spain, England, Wales, Canada, USA, Singapore, Trinidad & Tobago to NZ and scattered pieces of Australia including stunning north east Arnhem Land.

I was recently speaking to a close friend of mine who said “I have realised that we are not created for comfort and the easy life. If we were, we would never experience the adventure and courage that is required to really make a difference.” I couldn’t agree more, and so this site is not to promote the easy road, because as I have experienced the most tormenting reality of the short road is that you have to walk it over and over and over again and always end up back at the beginning.

My story is about moving from concept to conviction, from complacency to action and from death to life by the grace of the one gave it to me in the first place. O death, where is your sting? Where is your victory?

Thanks to Q for showing me that telling the story is secondary to living it.

I am currently residing in Perth, WA.
