Brunswick Junction Mural

It was my recent pleasure to collaborate with the Brunswick Junction Community Resource Centre in creating this youth driven mural. Brunswick is a beautiful rural town about 20 minute drive from Bunbury & it was very inspiring to meet such enthusiastic young crew who loved their town & investing into its future. We held two workshops where we developed drawing techniques before diving into the large scale mural with brushes, aerosol, rollers & a heap of paint. It was a wild few days with the heavens opening up, but with perseverance we managed to create a sweet mural that reflected the passion of the Brunswick youth.

Thanks once again to the Brunswick Community Resource Centre for all of their hard work. A special shout-out to Kera-Lee & Jo - the centre is blessed to have you guys!

Art Partners

Many thanks to Wanda from Art Partners for the recent opportunity to partner together in seeing emerging artists supported & championed. I had the pleasure of meeting with Keon - a very talented young artist from Collie to chat about all things creative & to also explore some of the murals created as part of the Re.Discover street art project in Bunbury's CBD. I always feel inspired when sitting down with a fellow artist & hearing about their creative process. To learn more about the incredible work that Art Partners does within the community click here. NOUBA Collaboration

I have had the recent pleasure of collaborating with a group of very talented creatives in styling this recent wedding shoot created by Nouba. The beautiful photographs speak for themselves, but this is just a sample... for the full write up head on over to Nouba & enjoy.

"The concept was pulled together by Lilli Waters, of I Got You Babe; stylist duo, Short & Spook and Melbourne florist, Floretta. Our tattooed bride needed attire with a bit of an edge, and Lisa Brown’s alternative wedding gowns were the perfect fit. The three-tiered cake came courtesy of Cherrytree Bakehouse and the hand-lettered stationery was created by Nouba newbie, Andrew Frazer." - Nouba

140 ART : Re-Cap

Many thanks to 140ART, Tartine Café & FORM for the opportunity create a large scale hand lettered design on the windows of Tartine Café (Corner of Wellington & William Street in Perth's CBD). The brief was to create a design that allowed plenty of natural light into the café while informing the general public who Tartine Café are & what they offer, & to also reflect a European aesthetic as is consistent with the cafés history & practise.

For all the information about the 140ART project make sure to either head down in person &/or check it out here! In extension - many thanks to Bewely Shaylor & Jean Paul Horre for their photography displayed below.

It is my pleasure to share with you that I have had my very first licensed gift card released in the USA! It was a pleasure being originally contacted by a US based agency about the potential of working together & to have my 'You Are Such A Fox' illustration accepted was a real blessing. The cards can be found in a stylish grocery store across the USA for your enjoyment.

Re Discover X Six Two Three Zero

Some very exciting news...

I am currently organising a walking street art exhibition in my home city of Bunbury, Western Australia called Re.Discover. It has been a long term dream that has been brewing for over 18 months & so the reality of the project being less than two months away is surreal, to say the least.

It is my sincere privilege & pleasure to announce the official Re.Discover artists:

Stormie Mills . Kyle Hughes-Odgers . Anya Brock . Jodee Knowles . Time Howe & Andrew Frazer.

For all information regarding the Re.Discover project, please head on over to Six Two Three Zero.

The Sold Project

When recently contacted by a close friend asking if I would be interested in designing a custom hand lettered design for The Sold Project - I was humbled & stoked at the same time.

I was first introduced to The Sold Project many years ago when traveling in Thailand & was immediately drawn to their passion & vision. "The Sold Project prevents child prostitution through education by providing scholarships & resources to children at risk." This Nelson Mandela quote inspired design is available through their online store with 100% of all finances supporting the cause of The Sold Project & in turn giving love action.

For more inspiration & context - please scroll on down to the film below.

Thanks for your support!

Commissioned Hand Lettering

I was very grateful to be contacted recently by some close friends in Switzerland who commissioned me to create two custom hand lettrered pieces of their children's names. The first one was to be influenced by nature & thorny vines while the second is influenced by feathers. The finals were inked with fine line pens & hand coloured in pencil.

Many thanks for viewing & for your support - both are greatly appreciated.

Letterpress Gift Cards & Art Prints

Letterpress is a beautiful printing method & craft that I have always admired from a distance, but thanks to Paul Jukes from Off-Set I am able to inch my way a little closer.

Off-Set is the brainchild of Canadian based designer Paul Jukes established to serve as a financial catalyst for not-for-profit organisations & churches while bringing various messages of hope. There are a range of letterpress gift cards & art prints available through the Off-Set site with a full listing of the contributing artists including the incredibly talented - Chris Yoon.

The 3 hand lettered designs below are available for purchase HERE.

Saatchi Online Gallery

There are no shortage of online galleries these days, but few that are so beautifully & intentionally curated as Saatchi Online Gallery . "Started by London's renowned Saatchi Gallery, Saatchi Online aims to continue the gallery’s legacy of promoting new, contemporary talent and bringing great art to a wide audience."

There are a myriad of artists being profiled from all over the world representing a wide range of mediums & practices, but don't worry - you will not be drowned with a tsunami of randomness. Each artists has been carefully & purposefully selected making sure that the reputation of Saatchi Gallery remains at the for front of the online art industry.

I've had the pleasure of browsing through various collections at saatchionline.com & wanted to take this opportunity to share just one (for now) artist that has captivated me with his beautifully crafted painting currently available as a limited edition giclée print series :

An Accidental Tourist  :  Painting (Original)

Kevin Sloan  :  United States of America

Limited Edition of 75 (Giclée Print)

The beauty of 'An Accidental Tourist' is that it draws me into a conversation. Trying to figure out what Kevin Sloan is trying to communicate is not my objective - engaging in a conversation is what it is all about. It is the celebration of the technical elements respresented combined with the intrigue caused through the penguin, the teapot, cups & saucers, the fruit, the braking waves, the untamed sky & the way it evokes a sense of wonder within. I want to know what the penguin is thinking & I begin to wonder of how many times I have found myself looking & longing for a sense of simplicity in those chaotic & stormy seasons of life.

So what are you waiting for?

From empowering sustainable careers for artists to providing the general public & art collectors alike access to originals & prints at a range of prices - they've got you covered! Check out the fascinating art for sale at saatchionline.com & don't worry - they deliver world wide, so don't be shy.

Brothers

I was stoked to spend some chill out time with my older brother - Rob yesterday & brew some ideas for an upcoming painting.

The progress sketch as you can see below is a combination of a single skull, multiple arrows, a wrapping banner & a series of detailing texture both within & surrounding the skull. I always enjoy the journey of development when working on a new idea & to do it alongside my brother is gold.

Today I'm reminded again to soak up the small moments.

'O Death Where Is Your Sting?'

Collaboration . Part 1

I was recently contacted by a brilliant Russian illustrator (details coming soon!) & after chatting back & forth we decided to create a collaborative illustration. I have illustrated the first half (below) & now it is receiving the second instalment.

It is such a pleasure to collaborate with other artists  as it continually reminds me of how beautiful & diverse each & every artist is, & how that reality should be continually celebrated.

Final coming soon!

Windows of the City - Perth

Just a quick one to give you a little sneak peek into my last 48 hours. I had the privilege of collaborating with the incredibly talented Cam Campbell (@thelayersofcolour) to create a Spring inspired window display for Pigeonhole (Perth, WA) as part of Windows of the City & Perth Fashion Festival.

I will write more soon...
